So last night I was watching a movie and about 40min in my pj cuts out. I waited about 10 sec hit power and it was up running again...no problem.

I had this happen once before to me. I'm wondering if it had to do with it getting to hot in the room and shutting down for safety reason.

I have about a foot space between my back wall and the pj. I was wondering if the fans may be not pulling in enough air to cool things down.

this is more of a concern to me as i'll be getting a port 3 board from curt soon for my HDfury2 that's coming and I know the port 3 boards were taken out so that my barco 808 will have more breathing room.

should I replace the fans in the pj? Any other suggestions?

thanks

Is the PJ ceiling or floor mounted? If ceiling, is it tight up against the ceiling or on a drop?

It is not much more breathing room and the place the port 3 board goes is not a particularly hot place, so the removal of it does not really help.

I assume this is an 808 chassis PJ?

Assuming the fans don't ramp up over say a 20 minute period, it's got nothing to do with heat. All Barco fans have an internal heat sensor on the SMPS< and that will speed the fans up noticeably to the point where the sets are as loud as Sonys..Smile

If the set dies completely at random, I'd suspect a bad SMPS. Bring that over as well when you come for the Port 3 board, I'll swap it for ya.

They also blow OUT the back (not in). The air goes in the front and gets pushed out the back.
