I just glanced through the lense sticky, so if the answer is in there I didn't find it. I would like to move my BG1208 quite a bit closer to the screen. I have a bulkhead with supply and return ducts running where the projector needs to be now. Can I change lenses to accomplish this? Right now the front of the pj is 12' from the screen, I need it to be closer to 9' to be in front of the bulkhead. I could also move it back to about 15' to be on the other side of the bulkhead. Are either of these an option?

if you move it closer you need to make the raster or image bigger on the tube face so not sure how much room you have to work with on that but for a 3 foot move i doubt you have any room left. Now if you move it back you'll have to make the raster/image smaller on the tube face to fit on the screen because as you move the PJ back the image will get larger so you need to compensate with the tube face image size. Is there a way you can re-route the duct work behind the PJ?

I thought about moving the ductwork. Nothing is impossible, but this is close. I was hoping there is a way to leave the raster maxed and change to a shorter through lense? I can live with the pj where it is, it's just very low.

HD-144 lenses will give you a shorter throw but you'll need adapters.

Good point,
I was thinking the 144 lenses wouldn't change the throw enough but I thought it was worth a shot.

If the 12' is properly set up, then no, you can't get down to 9'. But, lets start with the simplest question--what size image are you trying to throw?

The PJ has HD8 Rev. B lenses. My screen is a Draper 4:3, I believe it is about 96" wide for a 120" diagonal. I'm not really sure as I've never checked.
