Hello,
I'm using a Dwin HD 500 together with a Lumagen HDQ and the new Moome HDMI->RGB converter.
On my old Sony D50 I used Pal progressive (576p) direct from my Denon 3930 via YUV.
For HD I used 1080i also via YUV. Everything looked perfekt.

If I enter 576p in the Lumagen the Dwin will not sync.
Can anybody tell me the full timing settings for PAL.

If I enter 540p and 1080i I can clearly see the scanlines.
If I enter 720p everythings looks soft.

What's the optimum resolution for the Dwin HD500.

Best regards
Markus

Around 600 lines (progressive) from what I understand, assuming a 16x9 screen (ie: image area). I'm surprised you see scanlines at 1080i. That's really the best resolution by far as you don't want to downscale HD.

If I had a Dwin 500 I'd definitely run it at 1080i for everything. You can change the beam spot to be elliptical (taller than wider) if you still see scanlines.

Hello Kal,
thanks for you reply. That's what I finde out with my D50.
It's always best to run the native resolution. I wll try it again.
Kal do you also know the exact timings for Pal (576p) for my lumagen (front porch, active, total ....)

Best regards

Hello, Kal,
I tried 1080i again and it look smuch sharper.
But I can clearly see scanlines .
How do I make the dots oval on the HD500?
Has it electronic astig somewhere in the service menu or do I have to play with the CRP-magnet.
Any tips for playing with the CRP magnets.

Another problem is that with 1080i 47.97Hz the picture jitters.
1080i 50Hz with germen HDTV is fine.

regards
Markus
