|
|
I have a strange issue on my 1101(aka 1209s),no matter what 1080p signal I send it,it seems to cut the image off on the left by about 6 inches,720p is not an issue.Horizontal phase doesn't solve the problem as the image shifts with the cut off,Blanking is set to zero.
The video chain is
Hddvd,ps3>vp50>hdfury>pj
Fury is not the problem as I have a minimal run(about 2ft to pj)
I've consulted our resident Guru here (Russ)and told me to try switching from floor to ceiling via the switches and the problem went away.
I will be ceiling mounting it eventually however,if it is an issue I need to fix, I'd rather do it while it's on the floor.
Anyone have an Idea as to what it may be,and how I can fix.
Thanks

Why not use the vp50 to correct the timings?

I should add that I am absolute noob and am learning as I go.I have a friend who is a pro calibrator and could set this up for me without even blinking however,I am enjoying the experience so much that I'm trying to do everything on my own.
I've never set up a crt before and when I got it first converged and an image up I almost sh*t my pants at how good it looked.
The vp50 is also new to me and although I know some of the functions on it,the majority of it is a little overwhelming so if you or anyone could guide me through the process I'd be most appreciative.
To put it in a nutshell,I dont even know what you mean by "timings".

The cut off you see on the 1209 has to do with sync timings.
It's hard to explain to a noob but the sync timings tell the 1209 where to place the picture.
I'm not familar with the vp50 scaler so I don't know what terms it uses for the same kind of settings.
My vps2300 has a menu with 'video window' settings, here I can shift the picture horizontal and vertical to get it centered.
Especially my Samsung hd tv decoder has very bad sync timings which my Sony 1292 crt can't correct, i.e. the picture is shifted to the left and the most left part falls off the screen
Maybe someone who has a vp50 can check in here

Hi,
Did you check your left side blanking setting?

Yep,checked all blancking. It seems that the hdfury is shifting the image to the left,I am trying to correct it through the vp50 via its porch settings however,it seems I'm running out of adjustments or I just dont know what I'm doing in there, probably the latter.

Maybe you can check for positive and negative sync output on the vp50.
Porch settings is the way to go, but also the type of sync is important.
