|
I picked up two cables yesterday for $4.00 at our local secondhand store.
They are Straight Wire Waveguide 8" Speaker Cables, and they are about 12 ft long. I found the Straight Wire website but no specs on these cables. They are spiral wound, four conductors, with some clear plastic tubing for a sheath. They have nicely soldered ends, banana and lug type, very well made. Are these anything special or are they just wires?

When they use the word 'waveguide' I start to sneer. A waveguide is used for microwaves, not frequencies in Khz..
THey are just wires to us, but write up a good enough text, and you might sell them for $2K on eBay or better yet, Audiogon.

Yeah, I'm thinkin they're just wires... the fancy names don't mean sh*t to me. They're plenty thick, so I'll probably use them on my next project.
