So my neighbors kid, an enormously attractive young woman for whom my thoughts ceased being damning about six years ago Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil declared that she wanted to see her dad's outdoor theater running BEFORE returning to Miami and her elementary schoolteachers gig on Tuesday...

Back story: The father built a large outbuilding, 16'x16', ostensibly as a pool house. In reality, he and I have been conspiring to get him into one of my old PJs and some associated gear for Baseball and Football.
The second-cousin-twice-removed who has been wiring the place (a licensed electrician) has a tendency to spend a LOT more time exercising his vices than his license.
So... The place is without running electrons, little changed in nine weeks.

In order to demonstrate to the child (and her mother, thereby salving an already sore spot WRT this whole project) I decided to do a temporary setup of a spare PJ and HTR.

The PJ was a Barco 1208/2, and the HTR a disused Sony 5.1 cheapie.
I wired up 3.0 speakers (they were convenient) and tested the audio with a cheapie DVD player. Then, I wheeled the 1208 over and began setting it up. VERY green projected image, damnit. Source chain was DVD->SIR TS-320->Extron RGB120->PJ. Looks like the proprietary input cable for the RGB120 is shot.

After all that work, I had to fall back to S-Video. Que Sera sera: Scanlines that could cut I tell you what.

First thru the player were the Patriots and RedSox memorial DVDs, followed by The Ruins (the book was FAR better.) Much beer and good food, and all in all the whole project was a success. Now, if I could just get my WHOLE F'ING SUNDAY BACK!

I'm pretty sure that's the consent age here in MA, but I'll not test THAT theory! Shocked Shocked Shocked

I remember fondly helping this family thru some tough times, including one cold winters evening when the furnace went out and I was in a position to repair it: Tear apart the furnace, clean it, and replace the blower motor. Unthinking, I presented a furnace trophy to the mother not knowing the then-seven year old girl was within earshot.
The trophy? A decapitated ball of fluff that neither I nor the mother recognized for what it was, but the little girl immediately knew was her dear departed hamster. If I AM going to hell, it'll be punishment for good deeds such as this. Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green
