I believe extron made some boxes that will do just what you need. all you need is a driver as the HDFury already outputs RGBHV.

Does the cable you have now have a stable signal and no "sparklies"? If so then NO you don't need to spend $500 on the cables. Or for that matter you would never need to spend $500 on the cable unless you really wanted to have those cool cables.
I'll have to run 1080P through my Extron 202 and see what it looks like. Let me grab the manual and see what it's rated for....

Ok I have the Extron RGB202Plus, it's rated 220Mhz. I'll try the HDFury on it to my Sony G520P monitor later tonight and let you know how it looks.
I'll be using Ethereal NON $500 digital cables or even (gasp!) monster cables. As I have some of those laying aorund in 12 foot lengths too.

I was totally kidding about the cables! I used to get sucked in by that crap ages ago.... MonoPrice HDMI cables rock.... For audio I use VampireWire.. they actually OEM for some BIG names, but are really priced right..
Thx for checking on the Extron.... I just dont want to keep convering RGB to RGBHV w/ dongles and cables etc...

No problem. I think I'll do a comparison with the Box1020 as well since that's sitting there waiting to be played with some'more.
Any reason you don't want the gamma bump BTW?

Looking forward to your results!!!
The reason I dont need the Gamma from the BOX is that my DVDO does it, and I can do much more fine adjustments if I need to...
Thx Again!

I loaded up Pirates 2 on the HTPC and just stuck to one scene. The first screen shots are analog.
The second screen shot's are HDFury connected to Box1020
The third screen shot's are HDFury and Extron 202
See the screen shot titles for details.

I'm guessing the VPH50 can do a better job than the HDFury/Box 1020 combo but hey here's a couple more screen shot's just because.

Wow,
Thank you so much! Kal should make this a sticky, as it really shows what gamma can do.
It it does look like the Extron can handle the 1080p... When you said you cranked up the controls on the extron, what controls are there....
On the DVDO I have gamma control over Red, Green and Blue seperatly.... So I hope I have enuf....
I think the Extron may be the way to go... Now do you want to sell yours ???
The BOX is nice, but I just hate the cable conversion.... RGV DSub from Fury to BOX, Then DSub-Breakout Cable to RGBHV cables to PJ.. Mabey it's all in my head, but I would 'think' there would be some signal loss... Thats why I wish Moome's EXT-HD's would have worked....
This is a EXCELLENT comparison and seems to prove you dont need 1ghz of bandwidth....
Thx!!!!!

Nope mines not for sale. I actually bouhgt it to use as an output stage from my PC-1271 switcher when I use a moome card in it. The DVI and HDMI inputs on the moome cards don't put out enough voltage to drive my Ampro. The analog Component side was fine ( analog good!, digital sucks lol )
This Extron box also corects horizontal and vertical shift. I used to to centre the picture from the HDFury. You can see how far you can shift the picture in the three shot's below. The camera was locked off on a tripod. I just turned the H centre knob and moved it over.
Keep in mind you are doing a cable conversion with an Extron box. The input is a DB9. You can either make a custom BNC to DB9 cable or buy the breakout box like I have. I was fortunate to get all the goodies with mine. THe ouput on the Exton is BNC.
