Hi
how much would a set of new E8508 tubes be worth? I have found a set for my PG9+ but what would be a fair
price to offer him.
Thanks

They are worth a decent amount, but try offering something a little less than you think, and if he thinks it is too low, you can work from there.

I was thinking $600 + postage due to the current price of crt projectors.Any more than that i would be better off
going to an XG or G70.
Does this soud fair

Oy, I know some people will roast me for saying this, but I'd start at half that. You can buy whole projectors for so much less...
And yes, you'd be better off going to an XG or G70, because if you take that $600. and add the couple hundred bucks you can maybe get for your current projector, you'd have enough to easily buy an XG or G70(with just the tiniest bit of effort looking...).

I agree with Paul, offer a bit less, maybe even half as much to start with. I find that I can't give stuff away now days. The market has really dwindled and keep in mind shipping might be considerable depending on where the seller is. I really got into this hobby at the wrong time. I probably paid too much for what I have now but I couldn't come close to recovering my investment in today's market. I look at it as the cost of learning the ropes here. I have a working projector that I'm happy with and that's all that matters I suppose.

You were too generous...
The worst thing about when a seller over estimates the value of their wares is they rarely go back to the original offer when they finally realize the market isn't what they thought it was.
I've had the *pleasure* of seeing sellers sell for less than my offer, to someone else, after the realization that their item isn't as valuable as they'd thought. People do strange things...

It's a whore's market for sure. If you have working equipment, keep it for your enjoyment. I think I'm one of the few that paid too much for what they have yet can't get peanuts for it when I try to sell. Everybody wants to feel like they "got one over on the man".
