Red led at back is on, set is pulsing, just before the set "died" the green flickered a few times, fans turns for half a second, the stops (sounds like PSU shuts down).
Any idea where to look ?

Pull the leads from the HV splitter one at a time (with it off) and try to turn it on with one lead removed at a time. I have had bad tubes do the same thing. If it is a bad tube the PJ will start like normal with the lead pulled for the tube that is bad.

no change, problems seems to be with the psu board (most likely because a dead capacitor on the H def board)

You have a short somewhere, loading the power supply down. It could be any board in the set. Pull all boards one at a time save for the power supply and controller board. If it still pulses, you'd need to send in or swap the SMPS. I can repair any board if need be.
