A couple of weeks ago, after the 1208 was on for 4 to 5 hours, the picture went black. No popping, whining or crackles. Shut unit off for a couple of minutes and the picture would return. for a little while.

Since then the time to black picture was getting shorter and shorter. Yesterday it would come up flash the picture and go blank. Now it ramps up the high voltage and then right down.

When it goes to black the EHT led goes red. All tubes glow as normal and neck board leds seen to act normal (if that matters). No errors. Removed EHT and all looked normal. Tried one HV line at a time to each tube with all the same result.

Anything else to check or is it time to send in some boards? If so which ones need to be sent (location boards would help as I am not real familiar with the guts).

Just glad it made it thru the Stanley Cup but now I need to get ready for football!

Thanks

TV/Projector: All of them!

IT's a bad HV quadrupler, HV splitter or EHT board. I normally ask you to send the EHT board and quadrupler in, as no desoldering is needed to take those out. I'll check them here. If they work OK, I'll send back a splitter with the good parts. That's all it can be, and without swapping them, there are no tests you can do at your end to see which one is good or bad.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply. I will pack up the parts (with the big bubble wrap - I read your directions) and ship sometime next week.
