I have a DWIN HDP-500 projector that's about nine years old. The blue channel stopped working yesterday. I tried switching the red and green color inputs into the blue channel in turn, but still got no output from the blue channel, so I assume the problem is with the projector and not with the signal source.

I suspect the blue lamp has burned out, but I'm wondering if perhaps there's an internal fuse in the projector for each channel, and, if so, is it blown? I haven't looked inside yet, since the projector is mounted on the ceiling and it will take some effort to get to it.

Before I send it back to the manufacturer, does anyone have any ideas about what might be wrong?

Thanks!

It could be a neck board on the blue, try swaping it with one of the other tubes neck cards and see if it follows.

Thanks! Will do. I also found this info at:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=787384

"Swap the Green Input cable with the Blue
input on the front of the projector.
If the Blue doesn't come on you may try the
below if you are comfortable with going inside.

"Check the one inch wide gray flat ribbon cable
going from the motherboard to the CRT neck
board. This connector can get flaky and cause
intermittent or no output from the tube. You may
only need to gently probe the connector with
a stick or with some other non-conductive
instrument to make the tube come back on."

Well, the problem was the flat grey ribbon connector -- it had come slightly loose, so the projector is working fine now. Thanks for your reply, though -- I'll keep the board-swap idea in mind of I get further problems.
