Lots of Sony CRT projectors have the "Q" suffix - 722q, 1271q, etc. Not sure what it means. A code for CRT, perhaps?
A G70Q should be a North American machine (120v), while a G70QM would be a European machine (240v). Not sure, but the "M" may denote multi-voltage or multi-region.
Later machines like the G90 as well as other broadcast equipment, they changed to a U/M scheme. A G90U for instance is 120v machine, while a G90M is a 220-240v machine.
Not sure about the "G" suffix on your machine, though. A protocol manual I have shows three different G70 chassis:
VPH-G70Q (US/Canada) - Chassis SCC-K81A-A
VPH-G70QM (AEP) - Chassis SCC-K82A-A
VPH-G70QMG (AEP) - Chassis SCC-K89C-A
Anybody know what the "AEP" denotes? Australia, Europe, Japan?
How about the different chassis?
