Is there a mod or something I can do to eliminate banding on my 9500 ? I am 95% happy with my PQ with the exeption of 4 distict banding zones . I know bow adjustments can bring this on but its set at 50 . Any ideas . Thanks

To get rid of banding needs patience and time. Very careful mechanical and magnetic set up is crucial to eliminate banding. Some machines are more prone than others and also other factors as age of the electronics and possibly location with regards to outside interference, the latter is just a theory of mine. On Tims Site there is a good guide to help eliminate or reduce banding. I was succesfull and it took a long time and many redo's before I was rid of it. Bow is not the only factor i did not touch bow and still had it, it was introduced during convergence. Save the convergence as you go and go back and forth many times between it and the white field to spot banding. When you do you'll see where it was introduced during the convergence go back with the * key and adjust the linarity controls just a bit and redo convergence to the point it was introduced and see if came back. I had to go back and forth countless times progressing slowly but surely and got rid of it. but all geometry controls may add it. And I know i did not have a perfect mechanical and magnetic set up. I believe that is key.
One thing I found is if the position of the projector is closer to the center of the screen you will almost have no banding with little effort, but for most cases this is not an option.

Yikes! I had the same troubles as and solution as Athanasios. It did take a long time to get it right by following that procedure, but when it was finished, the banding was gone. I started by a complete re-set of all memory and set up.
Maybe you don't have to do that but you may want to go all the way back and start over just to know you aren't compounding the troubles. It was the top bow that was the adjustment that was the trouble for me too. Be patient
and good luck. It will be worth it. I watched a movie with my family last night and I always noticed how much better the picture looks now... banding free!

Thanks , I had a fair idea this would be the answer , Patience I have , time I don't . I think my mechanical setup is pretty damn good as I spent a night on each tube with a full magnetics setup . With no electronic adjustments and rasters centred my colours overlap quite well . I will reset and go through as you suggest and see exactly what adjustment is the culprit .
