I just started set up on a G70 that I am swapping in place of my BG1208. I finished the mechanical alignment and I need to center the rasters. But, when I try to get into the service menu to access the other commands nothing happens. It does not prompt me "Do you wish to enter the service control mode". I don't have a wireless remote, but the control panel should still allow access by pressing.....enter,enter,up,down,enter. There's got to be something simple I'm doing wrong. I got into the service menus when it was on the test bench, but no changes were made at that time. I was just making sure everything worked. So far the only things I've changed are the polarity switch and polarity connectors for ceiling mounting. I am able to access the general menu, but nothing more.

Make sure you're not in the user menu when you start. I usually press menu twice to toggle the menu on and off... Just to make sure the projector isn't sucking up a key press on something else. Then, "enter enter up down enter". You don't have to do it fast, so do it with some intention and make them good solid key presses. If that doesn't work, then go into the normal menu and make sure all three keys are working: up, down and enter. If the keys are working properly, then something else is going on.

I don't know what is going on with it....I had a hard time getting it to go into service menu when it was on the bench and now that it is hung. It did finally let me in. Got it all set up. WOW!!! what an amazing difference over the Barco. According to "the list" they are suppose to be similar in performance. But, my Barco doesn't even come close to what this Sony is doing. And I just got it set up, I'm sure I'll be tweaking it for while yet. I do have another issue, but that will be another thread. If anyone has any ideas why it is so finicky to get into service mode, I would appreciate the insight.
