Elaine Benes posted this test in regards to a 9500, but if you scroll down they also tested a bunch of monitors.

Are there anymore good reviews or tests of direct view CRTs? I don't believe I ever saw a good review on the Samsungs which might have been the last big name CRT manufacturer.

If you see one local, there's some Sony 24" widescreens that are real popular among the gammers. Usually go around $200 on ebay. I think they are about 150lbs, so shipping gets real pricey.

I'd kill for one of those things. If you have one, you probably shouldn't invite me over.

I just bought one of those for $75. Google 'fw900' for some specs. Only 100 pounds, not 150 but it is a 24" widescreen! It's capable of 2304x1440 but most run it at 1920x1200. I think that it should beat most if not all LCDs in terms of picture quality and I can't complain about the cost. It may have a RGBHV impute but obviously no HDMI which isn't a big deal for me. I can't wait till I get the chance to hook it up.

Why thank you!
I got lucky that I bought it when I did as some one bought the remaining four within hours of me buying mine. Now there are no cheap ones left!
I have a 20" trinitron that I love but I wanted widescreen and 1080p. It was by chance I discovered that 24" widescreen CRTs where even made. I had never heard of a CRT monitor above 21 or 22" never mind the fact that widescreen CRTs where made. To have found both plus 1080p in one monitor makes me wonder why gamers or movie watchers would even consider LCD.
perisoft: There is one on ebay, local pickup only, in NY state. It is much more than what I paid but at least everyone gets away with their lives!
