...for "maximum insanity in an audio product", the.. err... Idioty?... goes to the Clever Little Clock:

http://www.machinadynamica.com/machina41.htm

Yes, they're real. Yes, the guy actually sells them. Yes, there are people on Audiogon and reviewers swearing up and down that they're brilliant.

I've decided to get out of the motion simulator business. From now on, I'm just going to sell a polished brick that makes you THINK you're in a motion platform. I used to think that kind of thing was hyperbole, to explain the kind of thing audiophiles will get suckered by. But apparently the most far-out absurdity of which I could conceive was still unable to hold a candle to wretched reality.

Wow. Wow, wow, wowowowow.

Edit: Even worse: http://www.soundstageav.com/onhifi/20060801.htm

Apparently, it's not just a few apocryphal internet forum idiots. I am absolutely floored.

After only reading those wonderful articles you pointed us to in the same room as my system I noticed a subtle but instant change in both the tenor and tone of my system. It's as if the universe itself was willing me to get a clock into the room as soon as possible. My mids were more rounded and bass was more full as if I had flipped a switch. I cant wait until the actuall clock I ordered shows up so my system can get the boost it obviously so badly wants.

By the way if any of you similar minded folks want to try this as well I am willing to foot the bill for the first hundred who respond to my post. It's the least I can do to try and give back a little when the clock has already given me so much. Thumbs Up

I keep getting these little rubber 'sports watches' in my boxes of Froot Loops. I think I just figured out how to fund my LC conversion... Thumbs Up

By the way, the same guy also has a 'service' where he calls you up and teleports better quality into your system over the phone. I sh*t you not.

I found that semi dried cow pats placed strategically around my head make the voices stop... must keep the pats moist though... something to do with the harmonics of the 3rd order as ordained in the prophecy.

Makes about the same amount of sense...

I think he just buys those clocks from surplus places, and resells them. It's amazing.

You've got to be joking! I can't beleive how people can be sucked into this crap. As if putting anything on top of your gear is going to improve it's sound. The power of suggestion is the ruling factor here.

I think this is one step away from being the "cult of the clock."

Man, i got one of these last week and have not stopped playing my CD's since. It was 3:00am the other night when my wife asked when was i going to get some sleep.

The effect is amazing, it literally made the hairs on my head stand straight up!, which is incredible coz i'm bald.

The biggest surprise was when it placed it on my crt projector, i got an instant 1080P image on s/video input....truely amazing.

Just one thing, there are some fake ones being sold in of all places - sports stores, beware of the imitations. My friend thought he found a bargain one of these watches whilst looking for a new set of sneakers. Fortunatlely he rang me in the nick of time as i was able to point out how to tell it was a fake.
