Well I am a big geek I slept out over night in a parking lot for Phantom menace with about 300 other Die Hards. I also went to the midnight showings of Lord of the rings movies too. I am trying to find some freinds around here but they are all maried with kids..... sometimes it great still being single !

Ahhh Dave... you are such a ray of Sunshine... Laughing

There's only one opening night, sometimes i just like doing something a little fun. And watching a Big movie, on a Big screen w/ a Big Crowd can be fun.

Besides the theater im going to is in a suburb, and the crowds are generally tame.

I'm going with my buddy on that Sunday morning for a 9:30 am showing. Should not be too crowded for that one.

Yep, but films don't have a shelf life like eggs. They are just as good (or bad, as the case may be) two years years later as they are on opening night. Smile

But the energy and excitement seeing a show Opening night is definitely something else. I know what yoiur going to say and thats Ok, I agree I think my theater is much better than a cineplex any day of the week. especialy cause of the BH 100 Wink

Not to dart too far off topic but real quickly, does that BH100 support bitstreaming of TruHD? I want my receiver to do the processing of the new audio formats which is why I have delayed purchasing a PS3 for Blu Ray playback. Most of the players that do support bitstreaming are still a bit expensive in my opinion.

The BH100 is a bit older and does not support that. It does TrueHD only through the analog outs. Does not do lossless DTS formats through any output.

Most of the bitstreaming players will come out this summer/fall.

As an aside, I got the BH100 on Athanasios' recommendation and it really is a great player.

I believe the most recent firmware update for the PS3, upgrades it to bitstreaming lossless codecs. Post a question in the Sources forum. Lots of PS3 users here.

Really? Thanks Dave, I will check that out!

Now back to Indiana Jones. I'm really looking forward to the film but trying not to get my hopes up. I has such high hopes for Speed Racer and even tried to keep an open mind after seeing the trailer but to my disappointment it was just retched. In fact, the trailer was the best thing about it. Seeing it in IMAX format was kind of cool but did not make up for the fact that it sucked a bag of dicks. .

I'm going to take my daughter to see it at the local 4K DLP cinema this coming weekend (the $5 show). She will probably like the "car fu". I read an interview with Gaeta where he was talking about Speed Racer and said that this one should be watched on a digital projector due to the color gamut and such. So, it might be interesting from that perspective, but I'm already set to want that 2 hours of my life back. Wink

Hell, George Lucas owes me part of my life back for Episodes 1, 2, 3, and 6 so I'm used to getting screwed!!!!!

I took my 6 year old this past weekend and he had a good time. I liked how they blended the animation and live shots. It was entertaining.
