Is there a way that you can put a disk in the PS3 and copy it to it's own HDD? You are not stealing anything.

Yeah. You need to install linux on it. I believe there is a version of Ubuntu that most are using. Then you can use dd to make an exact dump and play it under the installed version of linux. Hit google for linux ps3 and you should find gobs of information.

Oh, one thing, I know people were doing that with BR videos. Not sure about games. I don't own a PS3, and I don't even play one on TV, but I'd bet if you can run linux on it, you could hook a USB hard drive up to it and store one helluvalot of stuff.

OK, I did a quick search and found it. I guess you just install the optional OS and boot off the one of choice. So, once in linux, I should be able to copy the content of the disk in the physical drive to the PS3's hdd. When I am running on the PS3's OS will I be able to access that movie from the PS3's GUI?
