I saw one for sale at a local garage sale. The price was low, like 20 bucks. I don't know if it works for not.
If you'd like I'll swing by and see if they still have it.

Let me make sure I can find it, but I have one of the cool last gen Sonys where the front display slides open to load the tape.

I am not interested in selling, but there seems to be some Beta experts here. I got two free GCS-50. There are no manuals nor accessories with them. At this point all I have checked is that they both play. I haven't done any research on them yet. Anyone have any idea at where they stand in the model range?

Ahhh that's a pro version of the SLHF-1000 IIRC. They were used for videoographer's to do tape to tape editing mostly. Very high quality. No TV tuner built in right? Are the machines a beige in color?

It's been a while since I added any Beta's to my collection. I'm trying to cut back. Laughing Of course there's always CRT projector's and parts, oh and cars, computer's, Poalroid Camera's etc...

Got any picture's?

AR Yes, you are right . The GCS-50's do not have a tuner and the main case and front panel are beige. I don't have a picture handy. The machines are here at home and my camera is at work. I will bring the camera home tomorrow evening and post a picture. On the back of the machines there is a small connector that is labeled "Control Lf". It looks like a PS/2 or S-Video connector. Might that be where an editing controller would attach? That might be a good reason that two of the machines were together.

Fuji I will send you a PM.

Yep that was for the edit controler. I haven't seen one in a long time with that connector. Most of the one's I saw just used the Control 'L'. The one that looks like a 1/8" headphone jack.

ac/dc, I have a Sony SL-HF 450 that, once VHS wiped out Beta, I used as a clock for many many years. Still works as far as I know, but I lack a beta tape to confirm that and I have no idea where the remote is...let me know if you're interested. It will otherwise go on eBay "when I get a round tuit".

Looks like mine is gone. It sat so long in the "junk" closet that my wife donated it!

Hey that was my first Beta. I think I have all the Buffy season 1 episodes recorded with it. They were bad for eating tapes though. I remember replacing belt's and clening the rubber wheel's inside mine twice.
