I have a bunch of ECP's sitting around, (they are actually Vidikron VPF40HD's) a couple have various issues. I would like to swap the system board between 2 of them. How difficult is this to do? Would I be better off switching all the tubes and hv leads?

there is no "system board" but there is a CPU memory module with the problematic Dallas chip

I've already changed the dallas chip, and the remote board that houses the chip. Is there not a motherboard that all of the inpt boards plug into?

Why swap the system board? It seems like it would be much easier to just swap the best tubes into the working one and accomplish the same thing. This is assuming of course that the tubes in an ECP are easier to swap than the system board (I've only worked on a Marquee so I'm no ECP expert)

It would probably be easier to give suggestions if you were to post if they are all the same model (Vidikron), what the problems for each one are and the tube condition. Otherwise suggestions have no merit.

Ok, the 2 vidikron vpf40hd's have 2 different issues. the first has unreadable menus, when a source is connected, when the source is not connected, the menus are fine. I have tried using different sources with the same results. I have also changed the dallas chip, and cpu board.(no change)
The 2nd powers up, then shuts down. I changed the hor sync board, and this fixed it, then it happened again. The projector makes a lot of crackling\static noises. The tubes in both sets are mint.
Thanks for the help, its appreciated
