I have a couple of ecp 3500's. I am trying to resurect 1 of them. Now, the one I put together fires up, and shows an image. The picture is a little soft, but the big problem is that when I have a source hooked up, the menus are garbled, and when I turn the source off, the menus are legible, but bouncy. I'm hoping this can be resolved with board swaps, I have quite a few spare boards, just not sure which I should try swapping first. It's been a while since i've played with ecps.
Thanx for the help.

Do you have an input signal connected? Have you done a hard reset of the CPU? That's the most likely issue(s). The menus will jump without a live input signal, or probably the unit needs a full reset.

Yes, I have a source connected. I turn the source off, just so I can read the menus (although they are jumpy, they are legible) When the source is connected, the menus are illegible. I have connected to different sources, with the same results. I haven't tried the hard reset, i'll give that a try when I get home. Are there any suspect boards for this behaviour?

I did a hard reset, and I still have garbled menus (only while source is turned on) So I turned off my source, and converged the projector. I now have a pretty decent picture, but wondering why the menus appear like a garbled streak across the middle of the screen when the source is active. I've got the same issue with a samsung ts360 (scaling 720p), and a faroudja vp301.

Is there a replaceable board for the menu's, or is it the system board. I have replaced the dallas chip, done hard resets, reseated boards. Any ideas?
