Have prices really fallen or am I just out of touch, this was a 1209s with under 100 hours and pictures that sold for the opening bid of 1500. It looked legit to me, what was the deal with this one. People here are spending this much on unknown condition machines that could turn out to be much worse than this one.
What gives

What gives | yeah the last 3 surplus 9500's come to mind, needed a lot of work. If this was a machine out of a private HT then I bet it was one sweet baby indeed. It should have sold for 3 or 4 times that much but I think the sorry state of our economy is behind the drop in all luxury itmes. 3 Airlines called it quits last week, it's really bad out there.

Prices may have fallen on your side of the pond, but in OZ there are some rediculous prices being asked on FleeBay, currently there is a vidikron sf40 with a buy it now price of $1000 and its listed as not working. A couple of years ago there used to be at least two pages of CRT listings, now there is six items, mostly entry level or overpriced for todays market.

Pretty soon you Aussies will be able to make up the difference by flying to the US to take advantage of the weak dollar...

I know prices have really begun to plummet but if it was a G90 in that condition I still would have expected it to fetch at least 4k.
(less than 100 hours on the tubes pulled right out of a Runco showroom)
