Doing the convergence on my 4600, and it is frustrating. When trying to converge the red with the green, I'm finding it difficult to line up the red verticals with the green, especially on the right and left sides of the screen. If you pull the red over so there is good convergence near the center of the screen, it pulls the red OUT of convergence near the screen edge. Conversely, when you converge them near the edge, they are pulled too far from the greens nearer screen center. No amount of adjustment seems to correct this. Driving me crazy. Does anyone else experience this? Any suggestions?

Can't say I've seen that happen before. Are you using an external test pattern though as from a DVD? Ampro internal patterns are notorious for not locking properly to the input signal, so while the test pattern of the 4600 might look OK, the image will be off. What I do is use the internal test pattern to roughly converge, then I use the external test pattern DVD to do the fine tuning.

Are you sure it is just not a size and/or linearity out of adjustment?

You need to start over. Push the HELP button and follow the instructions for a complete setup. It will take you through a complete setup in a logical mannor. Do it that way a few times and you will quickly begin to understand how the menu/code structure works. Good Luck.

It will save alot of frustration and bad language if you use the left/right size controls in the region 1/3 from center to edge (ignore the edge) and the left/right lin controls for the far edge. Just like the darkened/highlighed areas suggest. Try it, you'll like it. Same goes for top/bot controls.

It takes a while to wrap your head around an Ampro setup. Stick with it though, you'll get it.
