Just a head up for anyone who can still find one of these at Best buy in Canada ( not sure if the USA BB has the same deal )

Until May 2nd you get a $50 gift certificate when you buy a $49 add on player ( or any HD DVD player bought since Jan 1 2007 )

Net cost = you pay the taxes = $5

No stock online. Sad
But keep watching they have restocked before.

In the US the products had to be purchased at one of the company's stores prior to Feb. 23

In Canada the deadline is May 2nd.

I also bought two A30's the other day for $49 each ( after the $50 GC )
These were open box / floor models still hooked up TV's at the store.

( I ended up with only one GC after these purchases as I used each for the next transaction, the cashier was nice enough to ring them through separately )

I have one of the #$@!* $200 POS sitting on my Xbox that'll never get used. I didn't invest in movies for it (other than renting) so I'm not out that but....WTH to I do with it now??? I can't sell it without taking a bath. M$ hasn't said word one about any buyback (yeah...I'm hallucinating again) or exchange for a BooRay player (totally delirious now).

I suppose I could swap it for something...like one of those DVD rewinders. Laughing

Where did you see this? However, I can't seem to find any reference for HD players unless it's a combo player.

It was on their main webpage until a few days or so ago,
Clearly had date listed "Jan 1 2007 or later, expires May 2, 2008."

I guess they are not promoting it anymore but are still honoring it until May 2nd.
( I just got another $50 GC yesterday from them )

You just need to go to Customer service and ask for it.
If they say its not on their website tell them to look at current promotions on their internal system.

Buy Movies.

There are about a thousand HD-DVDs out. They are dirt cheap now. Get some, and stop whining.
