Does anyone know if Sony 09MEX2 tubes are used in, or could be replacements in, any CRT projector? I believe they are not LC so that makes them no good for a 1292 right? Or can they be modified to LC and used in any projector (specifically a 1292)?

Thanks

There is a thread here somewhere about this and I think the out come was that they could be used in the 1292 but you mighy have to change a pin location.
And I do believe that they are lc (the mex tubes)

I read the pin out was the same as well. I've seen pics of them and they look like they are not LC tubes, they have flat front glass.

I saw that auction few days ago and those are ac tubes. In avs archives was told that those are pretty rare ac versions of mex* series and used in some Ampro model.

After lc hardware swap those probably work in 1292.

I can pick them up cheap on a second chance offer if anyone is interested in them (I'm not) let me know and we can work something out. I need to know ASAP though or they go to then next in line (if there was indeed anyone else). Seems like too much work with my limited electronic knowledge for a maybe might work.
