Few months back i blew the PA board on my G70 and it was only last week after a long wait on parts that i finally fixed it .

Yesterday the misses and i decided to watch a movie on Blue Ray through the PS3 .

Anyway , planned to watch it when the kids went to bed but switched the projector on about an hour before just to let it settle ( probably ovekill with an hour but still ) . As i was putting 1 of them to bed , there was aF&%^&*G bang that actually made us all jump in the house , it was a loud SMACKING ARKING sound and straight away i thought the G70s officially stuffed .

I go into the movie room see the picture is off ( but fans still running ????? ) .

Power it down immediately and start pulling it apart .... fully .

I was checking for tube cracks , cuts in the HV cables , leaking from the Anode caps on the tubes , couldnt work it out after about 2 hours so cursed the hell out of it , cursed the fact i spent another $500 on it for a HDMI card and just cursed everything and put it back together to sell on ebay as a spare parts machine .

After all this its time to go to bed so i go upstairs , about to get into the shower and FM DEAD ... shower screen was shattered and that was obviously the noise this whole time , run down , plug the projector back in and it turns on with the white warm up screen , go to the PS3 and reason i had no pix was becase after 5 minutes in no service , it mutes the picture hence a black picture .

SO now im happily only out of $150 for a new shower screen door and our movie night will be tonight .

No idea what cracked it , it just exploded .

As far as the roo ...... nah , he was outside trying to jump start my Hilux to take it for a joyride .

Actually that reminds me of another story when we were in Italy about 4 years ago . My wife and i were copping it all night bout the roos they thought lived in our backyards here in Aus so i decided to go along with them and tell them this story . I told them that there is a breed of Roo that you can train and what we would do is train them to grab keys and turn on a car and actually really slowly steer it around cones in the road . I had them going for a good hour as they were fascinated .... haha

If it was the rolling door and not a fixed panel (most have both doors moveable) then it's a manufacturing defect. The machine that 'wraps' the tempered safety glass with the aluminum channel is to fault. It seems to me that if the door was rolling OK then it should be the manufacturers responsibility to replace it.

Good thing it didn't happen when anybody was in there showering...'specially one of the kiddies! Shocked
