|
|
I have an iScan HD+ and I attempted to upgrade the firmware to version hdp_6-7_2-91.abt .
The program after several minutes went to verify Device 1 and 2 and indicated the update was complete. However the device now displays continuously ERR-DF00-41-025B on the front panel. This continues even after do a power cycle. I cannot get to the LOAD program to reattempt the upgrade.
What is the error and, how can I resolve the problem?
Note: I emailed help@anchorbaytech.com and got the email kicked back from JOsborne@anchorbaytech.com
stating
"I am no longer employeed with Anchor Bay Technologies. For all assistance, please call 408-395-4455."
The original address was taken right off their site - go figure!

Well, to all you DVDO owners out there be very careful performing firmware upgrades!
Their technical support is now telling me that the unit is pooched. All I did was a simple firmware upgrade but the error I now get is hardware related. since the unit is out of warrantly there is nothing I can do but upgrade or buy something else. Seems like these things are no better that digital projectors. Rendered completely useless just because of a firmware upgrade - very discouraging product in my opinion.

That sucks...... at least I can reload my HTPC when it gets hosed. They didn't even offer to fix it for a fee?

exactly my point. if the machine just fried I can accept that but to be fried by firmware upgrades is well beyond my comprehension. I can't even get a response as to what the error code means. I'm esclating it on Monday if I don't hear back by end of today. It's been a week Friday and I'm still pissing around with it. they have never returned a phone call and I get one guy that seems to respond at the end of his working day, so little or no progress each day. Very frustrating and a lot of money down the tube.

Here is the final response from AnchorBay tech support:
"The consensus is the error is hardware related. The unit is too out dated to specifically identify the error code".
As if they don't have the error code
