I realize it won't "upconvert" the audio but will it send the audio to my flat panel over the HDMI connection for the true one cable hook up?
I want to get a refurbed onkyo 605 for the living room but want to make sure if I feed it stereo inputs it will send the audio to the flat panel over the fire place audio over the single HDMI cable routed there.
Currently I have an HTPC with a vga w/mini stereo cable. I want to put my extra HD DVD player in the living and was thinking about splurging for some in ceilings and then I needed a receiver. I had planned on just going dvi from computer to hdmi and then hdmi to FP.
I am just rambling now. Does this make sense or am I missing something.
I think I can get a little surround sound system in the living room for about $450.
