I'm about to finish my basement and include a home theater. Unfortunately the space that I am allowed to alot to a home theater is just over 16' long, and i was hoping to put a riser for a 2nd row. to get a 96" wide screen it looks like the distance to the front feet (according to the calculator i have downloaded) is 152". now if i build a torus like my last theater, i'll be loosing close to a foot, so the back of pj will be pretty dang close to the back wall. should i kill the torus idea to save some precious length?
I remember when i set up my 8500 maximizing the raster and then moving the pj forward. Does anyone have an edjumacated guess what the throw distance or distance to front foot is? if i can't make this work, i might have to go to the "not so dark" side...
oh, also, anybody have the length of the 9500lc in memory from lense to the back connectors?
thanks boys!
robb
edit: i forgot to mention, the pj has gt17 lenses

My throw distance if 144" for my 120" wide screen for my 9500 with maximized rasters. Using a throw distance of 152" for a 96" screen would leave a lot of unused phosphur. I would expect a throw distance of 110" to 120" would be better.
Chris.

The throw distance for all the common lenses (HD10L, HD10, GT17, HD10F) are almost exactly the same and only very by a couple inches.

thanks draganm! yeah it was a while ago. Some days i feel like an old man. funny thing is I can work from 8am to 10pm on the new home theater and wake up the next day and do it again without complaint...suprising what a little motivation can do for one's productivity.... any brides out there lurking in this forum should take note!!!
