I hope i'm wrong but , AFAIK, they never made a 9500Lc retro All the retro's I've ever seen were 8500's. So this is either a foobar on the guv liq or, if your lucky, someone installed a couple of 9500's in a retro case as a "mod".
Last time I checked, freight on one of those monster boxes was up around $500. too

Word to the wise if it's not too late. PAY BY VISA!
THe gov't will NOT give you a refund if these do turn out to be 8500s, so you need to do a chargeback on your credit card. You probably know the story about the 'new' P19 tubes from about a year or more ago that all turned out to be used with burns.
Terry and I went 1/2ers on them, he went to go pick them up after he'd paid the $3K or whatever it was, and he refused to take them. They refused to credit the card back, so other actions were taken. Beware!

It's absolutely on a credit card with buyer protection.
My logic in taking the risk is pretty simple:
1) The phosphor usage is going to be damn-near full raster
2) The Brightness and Contrast almost certainly will not have been overdriven
3) The chassis and skins will almost certainly be pristine if its' been in a retro carcass its' whole life.
4) If it is indeed a 9501LC then it should be young enough to not suffer the P14 voltage problem.
If it is indeed a 9501LC and in good working order, then I'm done. No more upgraditis for me! (Hmmm... gotta do something about my scaler  )

Can one tell a model by a serial number? This one is was headed:

Approx 32"x58"x80"
One thing to consider is they are most likely 10L lenses that are for smaller screens.
I would consider keeping at least the "first surface" mirror , It can be used in a couple different configuration and sized RP applications.

Also the screen would make someone a decent sized RP screen .
Those SN numbers are pretty recent If I remember correctly , maybe someone who has more experience can chime in with a guess as to their age

I've seen that case on an ECP. Looked great. My retro BG808s looks great, I can only imagine what a 9" set will look like. Scary!
