What are the 'good' not so noisey models of Extron that can take a lower signal and boost it? I need to give my Sony PC-1271's output a boost for testing.

The newer the better. I've had good luck with the 202Rxi. the 109 does not have fine adjustment so I would not go that way.

Others have had good luck with the Altinex products.

I had a 202 plus,it worked good till it died. I now use a RGB 300. I like it allot more. The adjustments are much finer.

Yes it is. I split the signal before gets to it so that the Barco Retro 801s does not get the boosted signal.

I've tried several 202 pluses. Those are pretty old and they have been hit or miss with me. From least to best in the 202 series:
202 plus
202xi
202Rxi

I would not pay more than $12-15 for a 202+ so you could try it and see if any good.
