Hi,please help me with the nec9pg.
My pj wont output any video,it only shows the raster, with only a bright horizontal line at the bottom of the raster.
it was working fine before ,up until i changed the eprom on the point board(PWC3718).the previous was an IE7 5-4.then i put in the IE7 5-3 eprom.which made the pj shut off. but there was no error code, putting back the IE 7 5-4 did not restore the pj to its original state.
What could have gone wrong?
isit a bad HV board?or point board?or both?

Why did you change the EPROM?
Take the point board out completely to see if the set will work.
The HV board is fine, otherwise you'd get no image at all. you might need a full reset of the system board, or you might have damaged the system board. DO the menus come up? Did you push any of the switches on the system board that might lock the system board up?

Yes the menus dont come up,also the input ID doesnt come up.I also did notice that at the time i changed the eprom on the point board an error code would flash for a split second(f?),which i could not make out. Then it just goes to standby, putting back the original eprom made it power up,but with this problem.

BTW,i changed the eprom i didnt think it can cause any problem, since they are both from an IE7 board.

Pull the point board out and see if the set works.

the raster looks like the 701 barco, with the VPH05 shorted out,it only projects a raster.NO video and menu.
Will try pulling out the point board tomorrow.

Hmmm,
I hope pulling this gets it back up. The push switches on the system board should all be in the out position.
Just curious as to what the reason was to change the IC. If it didn't work then it may not have been turned on in the settings menu.
You can see if the system board is half way working by switching inputs. Buttons 1-2-3 on the remote but put it back to the one your using. Listen for a click. Also you should get a blink from the rc led on the projector when ever a button is pushed.
Holding ctl down and hitting display will toggle the menus on and off. Might check that just because.
If you had an error you can recheck it by resetting the power supply (pull power) but for now I would remove the board like Curt says. Doug

Again.... WHY????? Seriously, I'd like to know what the reasoning behind this is. Why not swap the whole board??
