For anyone reading along I have run into nothing but problems with my Marquee 8000.
The last problem was the broken lead on the Red.
But I was able to get picture before with the HV lead to the red disconnected.
Now I can't get any picture and the H. Fail V. Fail and Error lights were on.
I found this thread
https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=7766.html
and tried disconnecting all three cables and now when I power off and back on I get just the H. Fail and V. Fail lights.
I was gonna get a new lead from Curt but now I am wondering if there isn't to much wrong with the set.
Does anyone have any suggestions for the current problem?
Or a recommendation?

Dave

Hello

When the anode lead arced, it probably hit the nearest thing which is the scan yoke, and may have taken out your horizontal and vertical sweep boards.

That's what I was afraid of.
I can't see anything obvious on the boards but I suppose that isn't surprising.
I don't suppose anyone in Edmonton or surrounding area has spare parts I can try AFTER I fix the lead?

I've got lots of parts for the 8000, and they're cheap, since I don't get a lot of call for them any more. Send me the HDM, V board, VIM. I'll repair/swap out for $150 max incl shipping.

Hi Curt,
That is a good offer thanks.
I don't have any more spare cash at the moment but as soon as I do I will pack them up and send them to you.
I will send you a pm first to let you know they are on the way.
Will you be able to tell if that is what is causing my problems?
I would hate to do all this and then find out I have something else bad.
I guess I will get the leads from you at the same time so I better start saving my scheckels.
I do have the old HDM board that came with the set and when I swap that one in I get the same errors.
Does that help in the troubleshooting at all?
I also have three more neckboards to try but I think I ruled those out when I disconnected them from the motherboard right?
thanks
Dave
