That's no deal, having high hours like that means you need new tubes. I would go for a lesser 9" with low hours before I would ever buy a PJ that has used up tubes.

I think that was a relisting of the $6600 one from 10 days ago? I'll bet the $6600 bidder was local to them and saw that the tubes had wear.

No that's a different one. There have been a couple of high hour G90's on Ebay recently. This is the one that went for $6600 was was relisted

no, that one is still up for bidding and has even more hours on it, about 9K

I don' think the one that sold for $3600. with 7K on the original tubes is a smoking deal, the value and selling price seem about right IMO. the best deal now on a G90 is the one in Washington from the Magnolia HT shop, I expect that one to top $5k

Ah. Someone contacted me the other day re a G90 in Florida. Problem was, the seller was in Hawaii on his honeymoon, but 'really needed money now' for his sick mom, so he wanted to complete the transaction NOW. Sounded like a scam to me, so I called him on it, and he hasn't replied.

Funny enough, he told me that he had taken the G90 to one of these 'isoldit' places, so maybe he was legit and this is his auction, or maybe not, and he wanted me to believe that he could take the isoldit G90 back. Who knows. I blew him off.

Too damn funny. Same guy here in the DC area: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/ele/561399439.html

His name woldn't happen to be, Jerry Olkan. Does this email look familiar? This was the response I got from him when I inquired:

"Hello,

The projector is to iSold It custody and they not list it for sale because i chosen to sell it my sell cause i must sell it asap.

E-mail me back if you are agree with my terms.

Thank you

Thanks for the reply. I looked on iSOLDIT and did not find the listing. I have seen itmes listed by iSOLDIT and usually, they have a store front where someone can go see the item.

Which iSOLDIT store is the projector at as I can't even find it on their web site.

Thanks.

Hello,
Thank's wishes but unfortunately the pick up option is not available because i am not in town and that`s why i am using the iSOLD It services. However i offer a 10 day return policy and you will have the chance to see the item before i get payed. As i said in my first email i will explain how iSOLD It works. iSOLD It is a third party service used for Internet transactions to make them safer and to protect both parties, the buyer and the seller. Theis main selling market is eBay but they handle transactions made on other websites too and Craiglist is one of them and besides that i am registered on eBay also and have an excellent feedback. You will have a 10 day return policy too so you will be sure that you receive the item exactly as described. I am using their services because i had to leave in my honeymoon and i couldn`t find somebody else to take care of the transaction for me.
If you haven`t used iSOLD It before I will explain how they work:
They already have the item in their custody insured and ready for shipping. They will contact you with all the details of this sale (they will send you an invoice ) and with the payment instructions. You will send the payment to one of their agents that is handling our transaction and after that you will send them the payment information so they can verify It. I will have to make you aware of the fact that i don`t know the agent name because they change it in every transaction for security reasons. As soon as they do that the shipping process will start. After you receive the item you will have a 10 day return policy, in this time you will have to decide if you accept it or not. If you do then you will notify them that you accept it so they can send me the payment. If not, they will give you a complete refund and return the item on my expense. If you have other questions please ask, if you don`t then i will need your full name and shipping address so i can have them contact you with your invoice and payment instructions. Â Thank's

Hi,  Thank you for your email. Right now i am gone in my honeymoon in Hawaii but i hope that`s not going to be a problem because i can still handle the transaction. When i left in my honeymoon, i left the item along with several other items in the custody of iSOLD It (go to www.isold-it.com and see how works this service) because i wanted to sell them on eBay when i return, but something came up back home, something wrong with my mom and i decided to sell this one before i get back. So if you are still interested let me know because i can make the transaction immediately.
Just let me know...
Thank's

Either a scammer sniped the $6600 one or it was a shill bid because it's been relisted.

Many of the latest G90 listings have been scammers. Especially the ones with the yahoo email address with the "contact me outside eBay for a quick sale"

It seems that G90s with around 5k hours are selling for between 6-7k - mint ones for around 8-9k.

Did that one Terry was selling for 7.5k US with the new tubes sell? IMHO that was a bargain. Especially considering tubes are $1650 each now!

There is one in Perth, Australia with new tubes selling for 12k AUD (11k US). If someone in Oz was buying, that would be halfway reasonable - importing a minty one from the US would end up at around $10k all told anyway. But for people in the US and Canada, one of Curt's with all the support you could want ... Sometimes it sucks to live in Australia!

When I was selling my Vision 1, I had people contact me expecting to pay less than US prices. I seriously think that some people don't think things through - if a machine sells for 7.5k US in the USA, that means to import one you have to pay the 7.5k for the machine, then pay shipping and taxes and also do a currency conversion.

One of the G90s (5000 chassis 690 tubes) I bought cost $5000 US - I thought it was a bargain - but shipping cost me $2000 US due to new US shipping laws and taxes $750 - that's $7500 US for an 'average' G90.

I always wondered why CRTs still sell for so much in Europe - now it makes more sense.

It seems that the prices of the better 9" machines has stabilised somewhat ... but even last August, a G90 sold for $12k US NIB. Another sold for $15K US in September.

Prices will always be governed by what the market will bear, but it can be very hit and miss with CRT! Scammers like Jerry Olkan aren't helping the market prices .. I hope they are smeared with baby oil and fed feet first into Hell Smile

Wow, no sh*t. That's a smokin' deal. If this keeps up, I could have a G90 before long! (I say this, not even having hung the G70 on the ceiling yet!)

The only explanation for these prices lately are that the RS1/RS2/1080p digital fad flavor of the month machines are starting to take their toll even on the 9-inchers... wouldn't you say?

I was really expecting to see $5k on this one but who knows, maybe the new RS2 with 30K:1 CR is having an effect. Or it could be that we simply had a convergence of the planets as I have never seen three G90's on e-bay at one time. I'm sure that watered down the bidding, as the first machine from I-soldit actually sold for more than this much nicer machine from a real HT shop which appears to have had it set-up right and were the original owners. Anway, Someone just got really lucky, at least until it breaks and they come here desperately looking for help. Surprised
