I have a KP57HW40 sony rear projection tv that needs a blue tube. I have not been able to find these anywhere. it is part # 873364705. Any help would be appreciated. Is there a set of tubes that I can substitute for the stock ones?

The part number for a blue tube with that model number is:8-733-647-35. It is replaced by: 9-910-999-40. That tube is also used in the models KDP57XBR2 and KP57WV600. The number on the tube should be: CRT07MVC41(b)-1(fl).

Cancel that replacement number:9-910-999-40. Its not a valid cross.

Further search confirms this a valid number. Here is a link to a new tube if you choose and is apparently in stock:

Apparently there is a service bullitin on this TV. I'm trying to narrow it down but it involves bad CRT's. Before buying any used or even new for the matter, I would investigate the bulletin issue.

Yes, I too had read that. They are all flawed. I'm guessing thats why Sony put it in only one Tv. I have found very few new or used for that matter. This new number is a replacement, hopefully this is a different manufaturer.
