I got a note from Moome this morning. He will ensure you are compensated.
If you opt for faster Shipping, I'll accommodate that.

If you haven't shipped mine yet (Cliff Green), you can "quick ship" mine and I'll forgo the postage refund. Otherwise, if you've already shipped it, I'll look for the PayPal refund from Moome. Do you need additional info from me to send to Moome? (I put my e-mail address inside the package when I sent it.)

I got mine back yesterday. Check it out and everything is working fine. Left the gamma around mid-point, nice details for both HDDVD and Blueray. No ringing what so ever. Very happy, THANKS Barry !

Three packages shipped this morning including that of A Tomlinson. I got the parts in to repair that one along with some spares in the even there are more unforeseen repairs required. They were held up in customs so I apologize for the delays.

Guys, I have to re-iterate.
I just got a box full of peanuts and a HD-EXT bounding around inside.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
No not use packing peanuts to ship these boxes.
They are a mess
they generate HUGE amounts of static
they provide inadequate protection.

Defective electronic switch back for repair. RMA #14xx
Value = $ 0
On and one more request. for your own good.
please do not use peanuts when shipping. they do not provide adequate protection. Bubble wrap is best.
Take out the toslink blank plug. I've had one that had that plug pushed in the box and it sheared off the toslink transceiver. |

I'm packing up that tube you wanted and figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone and send in my EXT for repair. Since I saw Kal's EE screenshots, I never even took my EXT out of the box. I just kept using my internal IFB.
It must be in another thread, but where do I get the RMA# from? you or moome?
Thanks,
Clarence

I was using the internal card and switched to the EXT box after the mods were completed. The image is noticeably sharper with better black levels than the older gen IFB HDMI card. Definitely recommended.

| Posted: Mon Mar 10, 2008 11:12 pm Post subject: Still having remote and H1 problems with repaired box |
|
|
I appreciate the quick turnaround repair from Joust, from a couple of weeks ago. The ringing and picture problems are definitely improved (and I assume completely fixed), but I still have one set of problems remaining. These were present from before the repair, so nothing has been broken (I just assumed they would be fixed, as well).
My H1 input has never worked well - output picture from the EXT-HD will work for 3-5 seconds, but then blanks out completely and never returns. It it not the HDMI sources or cables - both of my HDMI sources and both cables work perfectly on H2 (and in fact what I am currently doing is switching cables to change from my DVR to the HD DVD player). Many times I have to press the "2" or "3" button multiple times on the remote to get the EXT box to switch, although it doesn't seem quite as bad as before the repair by Joust (now it switches on the first button press about half the time, and the rest of the time it will switch after about 6 or 7 button presses). I've had to unplug the EXT once in the last two weeks to unjam the switching, although (again) the occurrence seems to be less than before. The component input on the EXT worked before and is still working just fine.
Gamma adjustment does not cause the projector to lose synch any more - I can adjust up and down to the limits without affecting anything but the picture quality (as expected).
So I've been in a quandary (and irritated) for the last couple of weeks. I am getting a new audio pre-amp which switches HDMI (1.1), so I won't need H1 when that happens. But leaving it unfixed bothers me a bit, since it should have worked in the first place. But then, I'm not sure I want to go through another round of shipping off the box for a repair (assuming Moome and Joust knows what needs repairing).
Is it just me, or is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Should I ask Moome to exchange my box for one of the extra 2nd batch boxes? I have one of the VGA connector EXT boxes, which are no longer being made, but this is not that much of an issue, since I have a short VGA <-> 5BNC adaptor cable.

I wish you would have indicated this before I sent it back. I really didn't run them for more than a couple minutes as I was only looking for a specific issue.
It sounds odd. Obviously its not an intermittent issue.
This is the first I've heard of this type of problem.

I got the tube Clarence.
THanks.
no time to work on your box tongiht though. Wife is sick and we are digging out from a major blizzard. I had about a yard of snow. Snow banks are over the stop sign down the road.
I'll do it tomorrow and ship it the next morning.
