But does that make me wrong Kal? I don't think it does. Smile

I will be testing out his next versions for him before any are shipped out, so hopefully any performance problems will be caught so this kind of fiasco doesn't happen again.

THis problem was not caused by Moome so don't be jumping all over his back. His supplier of one of the parts screwed up in more than one way. And Kal is right, unless you've been involved with this type of manuafacturing then you don't know! He's doing a great job of clearing up this mess so all his customers are happy with their new toy.

Send them in, get them fixed, then sit back and enjoy.

Moome will also be sending me future versions of products to test so that I can take upclose screenshots like the ones I posted before.

Kal

<------------------------------------ the Marquee tester guy of choice

I think Moome recognizes the value now of more thorough post production testing. He is in full Damage control mode now. Lessons learned.

Kal,
Are you and Walter going to test the MUX-HD before it ships out?

Nope. Not the MUX-HD. I have no way to test it. It's been tested by other already from what I've been told. (Some of the reviews are posted in this forum).

I'll test the universal analog output devices like the EXT-HD and future versions. Barry will lend a hand with Marquee stuff. Moome's got other testers too.

Kal

I guess I don't. What seems to me to be an everyday common sense issue, is apparently far more complicated than my tiny brain can comprehend. Rolling Eyes

I don't think that's true. No reason to thoroughly test each box, but I think ALL manufacturers randomly check product thoroughly, regardless if it's 1st, 2nd or 3rd run, to be sure there are no problems. All moome needed to do in this case is thoroughly test *ONE* and this problem could have been avoided.

I can see where Moome could assume from past testing that everything was ok, but that was no if-ands-or-buts ill advised. He shouldn't have done that. That's an assumption that should not have been made.

What you state here is true to a degree. Its called mil spec testing. where they take a sample percentage off the line and test them thoroughly. this give stats on % failure etc.
That is how large operations do it. 100,000's of units. Moome is a very small scale shop. 100-200 units total. He probably tests prototypes to death. then does functionality testing (works- don't work).
I'm fairly certain this exercise has taught him a valuable lesson to at least test one unit from each run, more thoroughly. and Kal, Walt and I will be independent verifiers.

Sorry guys but i could not get away to get to the bank so i have no USD to include in return packages. If you are willing to take Paypal, I can have your repaired boxes in the mail tomorrow. I suppose I could get a postal money order too in USD.
if you are on the list of repaired boxes and you would like one of these return options drop me an email to moomefix@curtpalme.com and it'll be done.

Great to here that!

PS: For those of you that think I'm picking on Moome just to pick on him, I didn't just pop out of nowhere and start busting his balls. Kal gave an excuse for the problem. I just responded that I didn't think it was a valid one. I still don't, but citing that I'm not a "manufacturing expert", my opinion doesn't count. Wink Being an expert at nothing, somehow I'm going to have to try to make it through life armed only with common sense. What a hard row I have to sow! Mr. Green

I am more concerned about getting my EXT-HD box back than recouping the shipping cost. Rather than sending $10 I would prefer that the $$ be applied to a faster shipping method, preferably with tracking ability. If you cannot do that just send it back without the $$ so I can get my theater back up. Thanks for your great work.

I just dropped mine in the USPS today so I realize its not on your first post list but please be on the lookout. Like PEH I don't care about the $10 but also would better appreciate faster return shipping

here is a good example.
I am having trouble keeping Forum names, Email addresses and real names straight. Can you please include all these IDs in correspondence. If you don't , I could make a mistake. I hate it when i do that.

On another note. I've made a decision. For expediency, I'll not be putting $10 into any return boxes. Logistics is to problematic for me. I could not make it to a bank today either. there was a good old fashioned Canadian Blizzard today.
so all boxes will be sent out tomorrow.
