Nope. About a month.

I did a massive 300+ hour clean out of my place 3 years ago. When I was all done there were no half assembled computers, odd CRT monitors with only two of the three guns fireing, no old VCR's, car magazines, or stacks of S-VHS tapes on the piano. The LD collection, LP collection, DVD collection, Cassette collection and Reel to Reel collection had all gone to storage.

The carpet was not only able to be seen but was vacuumed and cleaned. I could make it to the 4 corners of the room without stepping over old sub woofer projects, 300 cables strung here and there. I didn't have to climb over the un-hung movie posters or side step the stack of VCR's sitting infront of the RPTV that I had put there 'for now'.

Everyone that came in had their jaw's drop at how nice and clean it was. As compared to just 3 weeks earlier when there was single iles to walk amonst the surplus.

So after 3 days I'm sitting in my easy chair, I can swing my hands all around it and touch nothing but air.
( this was the pre-crt projector days mind you )

I WAS SO BOARD I COULDN'T STAND IT!!

It lasted about 6 months. Then I decided to go from a 42" RPTV to a 73" Mitsubishi w/9" guns. I was however too late. I missed the last one I could find on the east coast. Then I found audiovideotechnician on Ebay. WOW CRT projectors for less than 20 grand!

Now three years later. I can hardly move. I'm in the porcess of moving everything out of the living room to finish it off into the theater I know I'm capable of building.

I've been on a buying spree these last 8 weeks and it's been fun. I know however that I can't keep it all so a few years from now I'll be packing it up and passing it along ( or being greedy and buying more storage lockers to put it all in ).

The life of a self confessed pack rat.

My name's Jeremy and I'm a geek, pack rat, post whore and forum entertainer extrodonaire.

Very Happy

Indeed it does. Has a brand new picture tube in it to boot! I turn it on from time to time. I think I own it 15 years now.

Hell! I'm seeing the lanterns you got hanging up. I see an original Coleman gas! Used to be able to use "white gas" from the gas station in those.

Ahhhhhh the old days.....

I have several. An AGM lantern as well. American Gas Machines. Never heard of it, got it for $5 at the swapmeet and restored it. It's OLD, but works better than all the new ones. I collected lanters for a bit, and they DID come in handy one year.

The blue one is an original DIETZ (I think) street lantern. I re-painted it and stuck a clear globe in it. Good old Kerosene.

Marc, you know there's an easy way for you and I to clear out our shops. We simply exchange locations for about 60 days.

The end result would be a pile of 'I'm surprised you couldn't fix this, it took me 15 minutes'

and

'I don't know why he is keeping this shite around, I'll do him a favor and I'll throw it out'

THe cool thing is, neither of us would miss the stuff that we each threw out, and we'd each be damned impressed of the pile of stuff we repaired for each other.

The problem here is that you are absolutely RIGHT!

Although I could repair most of this crap, I never seem to get around to it.

But the second part is soooooo true..... LOL!

Yeah, isn't she cute? We got her when she was barely ONE day old. The only survivor of her litter. Didn't think she'd make it, but she turned out to be a GREAT cat.
