Ceiling is by far the best mounting position when possible - Generally, the best seat in the house is right about where the projector is so if it's floor mounted, you either have to sit to the side or behind it (too far back in my opinion) There's a tutorial about how to build a cheap, sturdy, and adjustable mount here: http://www.curtpalme.com/MountingMethods.shtm

excellent info, i noticed all mounts were done on flat ceilings, im sure im not the first but i have cathedral ceiling to mount to, 9, sidewalls, 14' peak, thanks

While some here may disagree because of the gain, this is a very nice screen, with lots of punch.

Having it on the floor will put the projector approximately in the middle of your room, it really should be on the ceiling.
