Curt,
I actually did this for awhile offering personal e-mail support to NEC owners with no waiting for a fee but as you know sometimes you have to talk to a real person to hear frustrations and joy as they go through it. This is sort of fun until you get that phone call from someone that cant talk 'American English' or have a selection to press 1. Lets see.......I have a chance to be that out-sourcing person. Do you say 'whaaaats up dude' ?

My all time favorite of all of these was a guy that was calling in my time zone. It must have been in the wee hours of his morning but just as we got to phase I hear this female 'you sob mfkr' slap phone hitting the ground.. I was called a f.. whore..b something then the phone went to dial tone. I sent a pay-pal refund saying 'I only fix projectors, I cant fix your problem' Doug

Yeesh. I was showing my kid something on the globe once, and we got into a discussion of sun, seasons, etc. Not only did he figure out timezones on his own, but I mentioned the earth was tilted -- and he figured out that Australia has winter when we have summer. And he was FOUR at the time...
He must take after his mom. Wink

I think the teacher can take at least half the credit on this one, some students learn to think-some just try to remember.

I remember learning this in Social Studies 8.. and I flat out didn't believe the teacher. How the hell could Australia have winter when we had summer? I think it only sunk in in about Grade 10 that the teacher was telling the truth..Smile

Another strange thing: I can always tell when it's about 4:30-5PM around here. It never fails that I'll get about 4-7 phone calls all in a row, usually right after 5 PM. That would make sense if it was all local based service, people get home after 5 and call when they are in front of their projector, but these calls come from all over, meaning people phone at 8 at night. Never been able to figure that one out. The phone can be dead all day (to the point where I phone myself to make sure the phone is still working, ever done that??), then at 4:45 PM the phone rings until about 7. Today I got 4 calls between 5 and 9 PM. The last one was from a friend.
