... when anyone calls me at 5:53 AM on a Thurday morning, I reserve the right to return the tech support phone call at midnight Pacific Time.
That's 3 AM East Coast Time.
That is all.

Ummm, thanks, I think. I mean I like my projectors, but magically diagnosing flickering red tube problems at either 5:53 AM or midnight isn't my idea of a good time..

You should consider For Pay (PayPal) professional tech support. I know you wouldn't charge somebody (noobie) trying to set up a pj they got from you because that's the kind of guy you are and how you run your bidness but...I know there were (and still are at times) instances where I wouldn't have had a problem paying $40-60.00 pr/hr to have somebody 'hold my hand' to get it right.
I'm not saying it would be a huge seller because this is a hobby and as such shouldn't have a price attached for ones time put into it, but still, it would be a great alternative when stumped. Just a thought.
EDIT:The price I mentioned hopefully wasn't an insult or pay cut. It was just a number pulled out of the air.

No, that wasn't the point of the post. It was a longtime customer that I sold a set to.
NORTH AMERICA HAS A NUMBER OF TIME ZONES
was the point..

Curt
Over the years, I figure out that the further east you go from the the west coast the more clueless they get about time zones. There for people on the east coast have no clue at all.
Ps. Especially people from Toronto..they really do believe they are "the centre of the universe".

I'm sure there will be flack for that one, but I'm 100% behind you...and I have to live a lot closer to them than you do!

Hey I'm in Toronto...and yes the world does revolve around me.
No not really. It's the whiney politicians enabling the whiney...whiners and for some reason those are always the ones that end up on TV when they have the 'man on the street' interview.
Tell me Curt, did you blast him for calling at that hour?
I've thought about calling you but unlike most people I understand time zones. So I wait 'till the appropriate time.
I once told my friends little sister that it was only dinner time on the west coast. SHe was shocked. She couldn't fathom that it wasn't 9pm -everywhere-.

I work for a big company with locations all over the US and the world, so people are generally very aware of time differences. Still, somebody will have their head up their ass and schedule a meeting for me at 7am (I love getting up at 6:30 just to set on a telecon), over my lunch hour (AFTER the east-coasters are back from their nice lunch of course), or my other favorite is when I'm working with Pacific folks... their 4:00 meeting is my 6:00pm meeting. GGGGrrrrr.....

Yeah, it runs right up Airport Road all the way to the point it intersects Highway 26.
I see your Junior "C" team and mine have a match-up tonight!
Go Shamrocks!

Yeesh. I was showing my kid something on the globe once, and we got into a discussion of sun, seasons, etc. Not only did he figure out timezones on his own, but I mentioned the earth was tilted -- and he figured out that Australia has winter when we have summer. And he was FOUR at the time...

No kidding. There are plenty of adults that you could explain earth tilt and seasons to over and over and they wouldn't get it.
