Actually, what I got today is the service manual for the Sony 004 Qualia!
I bought it as I read that a couple of units have died out of warranty over at avs, and the customers were charged $1500 from Sony to repair the power supply. I wanted in on the action..
So if anyone has a Qualia that needs work, I have the manual. A complete POS manual too, nowhere what the older CRT manuals were. Very little circuit description, a full parts list, and then schematics. A description on how to get into the s/menu mode. That's about it. Thinner than a Sony 12XX manual.

That is pretty bad when the Bentley of Sony digital projection loses a power supply. Kind of makes you wonder if the components in that thing were no better than the run of the mill Sony digital projector.
Then again, anyone haven bought a 004 new can afford the f-ing $1500 since its half the price of a lamp.

And just how thick does a manual have to be to give instructions on correct disposal of spent electronics
