My ECP 4100 is upgraded from the SD-187 to the 07MS tubes, and has the old style focus board. THe problem I am having, is that the image is dark. If I turn the contrast past 2 (default) it gets blurry really fast. The contrast looks the best around 4, put it blooms terribly, especially on green. If I leave the contrast on 2 or 2.5 and turn the brightness all the way to 9 or 10 (maxed) then the image appears correctly, except it is obviousley washed out (no black). My focus is perfect with contrast at 2, but terrible at 3 or higher. Thought maybe a problem with the resistors on the focus board?

Today, the image went so dark I can barely see it, with all of the settings left as I had been using them. I went into the menus, and everything looked fine, including the convergance pattern. I decided to get out my switcher, so I could run another source. I plugged in a VCR (I just happened to have one in storage) and the picture was fine (at least as fine as an old VCR with no line doubler can be). So now I'm pretty sure that the problem lies with my transcoder, not the PJ. I'll have to get a hold of my VGA to BNC cable to confirm this, it's sitting with a Sony 1270 not in use.

Okay, got the vga to bnc cable hooked (I made a new one) and problem solved. It's really late, and I have to work in the morning, but I don't care, I'm watching a movie.

If you ever travel to the Edmonton Alberta area I have a 4100 you can have for parts. It probably would not be worth shipping it though. It works but I have not played with it enough to know if there are any problems with it.
