Thanks for the tip. I still think there is something wrong with the projector, the corner focus is terrible, and the corner focus adjustment does nothing at all. Where do you think the problem lies?
After messing with it some more, it started dropped the signal again. Also, another problem I have been having is it detects the same source I have been using as 3 different sources in memory at random. I had to create these redundant sources in the memory, or else it would give me an imcompatible match error.

1) Clean connections as well as board connections
2) Swap system board
3) Swap deflection board (has oscillator circuits)
Or have 2-3 tested. Doug

Problem Solved!(Mostly) I swapped the deflection board from my 9PG xtra (they both have the same model# and revision) and it works great and is stable. The corner focus improved as well, however the controls still have a minimal effect. I also noticed that there appear to be some repairs under the horizontal oscillation area of my bad board, so the problem likely lies there.
Can I run the 9PG xtra deflection board in my 6PG for awhile with no problems? Or am I slowly cooking something?

Corner focus really is subtle, but the F board could be bad. I've seen that before.

I think alot of the corner focus problem is optical. If I look into the lenses is looks good. My 6PG doesn't have the focus rings my 9PG xtra has - maybe that is the issue.
Also- is it ok to run with AKB off? The lines at the top are annoying.

did you check that the lens spacer are set correctly (should be 11° setting for ceiling or floor front)? Also that the spacers are correct for your screen size (in most cases that would be the 100" spacers).

here's a picture of one of the spacers. This one fits blue or red 100", 11°. For red you have to flip it.

Ah ok, I didn't even know it had spacers, they are different than the spacers on my Nec 9pg xtra. The spacer is not at all what I should have, it is for a 200" screen, and I have more like a 60" screen.

According to the manual the 100" spacers wouldn't be ideal either (they are for 75"-130" screens).
60" spacers may be very hard to come by though, so maybe Doug knows how close 100" spacers would get you (they are more readily available).
See attached document for exact spacers needed.
100"/11° needs 2x B + 1x 1
60"/11° needs 2x A + 1x D
your 200" spacers should be 2x C + 1x F (11°) or 3x I (0°)

Thanks for the help, but after about 2.5 hours of work, I transferred over the mounting rail from my 9PG xtra to my 6PG. (My 9PG xtra needs CRTs, and now that I've already taken a bunch out for my 6PG, I might just end up parting it out). Focus improved again! However, it is still not up to par what my 9PG xtra's corner focus was. Maybe I will just live with it. What blurryness is left is definately an electrical problem.

the 6/9 PGs don't have corner astig, or corner focus adjustments. I don't think you will get it as sharp in the corners as a PG Plus or Xtra. But you should be able to get at least decent focus.

Well, you can get pretty close in the corners, but it's an artform bordering on magic to do it. It takes VERY careful setup. The projector HAS to be spot-on and set up within it's throw/screen size specs. The lenses loose corner focus if you make the rasters too big. And you really have to take your time on the astig adjustments. Oh man, I spent soooo much time on my original PG9 only to find that a plus can be dialed-in in 10 minutes.  Well, not quite, but darn close.
