Hello, I am having a hard time getting the bottom of the image of my NEC PG to focus properly. The top and side are pretty well focused, but the bottom is not. I tried using the edge focusing option, but it can only barely make the bottom focus better. I have also tried focusing the lenses too. This occurs on all 3 colors. Any ideas what I am missing? Question

Probably Scheimpflug, which you can't really adjust on NEC's. See if the spacers (between lenses and tubes) are set to the right numbers. The chart is in the setup manual.

If it's a plain PG it doesn't have flapping.

If the electronic focus does nothing, I'll bet the F board is bad.

What exact model?
Depending on the model number if it isn't a 'plain' PG it could be the bottom edge elect astig isn't adjusted right or you have the image not centered in the tube face top to bottom. If it is and it still doesn't focus check the A-B focus ring tabs and try small changes. Just do on the green first.

You want the image hitting the convex-concave sweet spot of the lenses or you can have a soft top or bottom edge. Could be where you have the screen also depending if the projector is level. See diag in the install manual. Doug

When using 16:9 format the top bottom focus might appear its not doing much. Easier to see on a 4:3 image.

Messing with the spacers fixed the problem. I had to set it to the 11 degree incline option even though I dont have the projector at an incline.

11 degree is the standard setting for ceiling front when the PJ is mounted level to the ceiling.
