Anyone know if there is a minmum screen size recommended for a sony g70?

Or, what is the smallest screen size anyone (g70 owners) is using?

thanks.

I'm using an 84" matte screen (just over 6' wide). PJ is being fed 960p72 signal thru HDfury & RTC2200 combo. Nice bright image with excellent blacks. BRT is 60 & CON is 55. Very sharp. Seems to be the sweet spot for resolution with this unit. I might try 1080p in future but don't have HD player yet. I'm expecting that 1080p may be a little softer. I'll be picking up a digital SLR very soon and will post screenshots as soon as that happens.

I'm running 800p, 1920x800p is the 2.40:1 equivilent to 1080p. It may not be fully resolved but to my eye it looks very nice. Scanlines aren't in your face but small text on the screen is still easy to read.

My screen is 96" wide.

thanks for the feedback. And the reason I ask, is that I could swear I say a post that said the g70 looks best on a 110" wide screen. not sure what AR the post refered to.

any other thoughts?

My HT room is fairly small, (couch is about 8' from the screen, so 74" width seems plenty big) Smaller screen means I don't have to drive the crts as hard to get 10 - 12 foot lamberts on whites. Less contrast makes the beam spot smaller so it seems to resolve fine details a little better. If I push the contrast closer to the recommende setting (80), it's a lot brighter, but noticably less sharp. Also with the gain at 55 it's easier to get the grayscale tighter (within 50 deg. K). Hope this helps.
