I see that Projectorusa.com has the Mits 4900 1080p LCD pj for $1350 with the rebate. It's specs don't look that much better than last years crop, but it is 1080p. My best friend is in the market for an upgrade to his PLV-70, so I will mention this as a good candidate. Is anyone tempted to trade in their CRT?Smile

the reviews I have read have been disappointing. Likely at that price point though performance should match. I am not interested in another projector other than a spare Dwin for the one I have. (parts and tubes.) Wink

Take a look at your local Craig's list, last years digital is in the yard sale pile. There is so many of these things kicking around I'm afraid they may drag down the status of HT. Pretty soon everyone and their Mother will have two or three HT's (at least what they call a HT) in their house.

*snicker*

Just invite 'em over. Then they'll see what an HT REALLY is. Smile

Me, too. I want to do some movie nights in our little neighborhood 'green space' this spring. A big digital would be perfect for that. Fun, fun.

Yep, digitals are good for something.

I used my buddies DLP to find my car keys the other night in his basement. He installed red lights in all his fixtures. All he needs now is a burst water pipe and a copy of Das Boat and he'll have that submarine feel down pat.

I saw a Pearl for 2000 US the other day... now that IS a bargain. SXRD is quite reasonable vs CRT - even though not perfect.

I think about the own digital I would convert to would be the new JVC...it's blacks are very close to crt. The SXRD is not to bad, but not as good as these new JVC's.

I hope it's better than the RS1. After reading for months about how the "blacks were close to CRT", I was really disappointed when I actually saw it. The dPJ that Casey brought to Cliff's last meet seemed better that the JVC.
