Ok - I know I am asking a lot here and for not much gain but I just picked up a Runco CinemaPro 760 projector for literally pennies and I want to play around with it to see if I can revive it. My sister has an identical projector so I really got it for parts but considering the offer Curt has made about getting rid of old parts I thought it might be worth trying to get it up and running. If for no other reason that to hook up to my NES and play Mario Brothers. I have a Sony 1271 that I use for watching movies on.
Symptoms - When I turn it on the fans come on but I never get the crackle of the tubes powering up. I am kind of assuming this means the HVPS is gone - is there any way to confirm this suspicion? Would there be something else that might be causing this.
Thanks,
Benjamin

This set is a lone one amongst independently made projectors. THe set was made by RCF in Italy for Runco, and they didn't sell very many. Also, frankly the construction is a POS. I've had one in only, and I scrapped it because I didn't think it would make it past the door without failing..
The good news is, the Sony 07MS tubes can be used in a lot of other sets, Ampro, Barco, Sony and Electrohome ECP, so if the tubes are in good shape, pull them and find a cheap ECP to drop them into. Also, the one I had here used the cheap TAC lenses, RCF cheaped out in that department as well.
