I am trying to actually do it ( gee that sounded dirty ) I have the time and the cash just need to find the product.

Ok got the quote from Lowe's
$170.04 for the 5' x 12'
$ 85.02 for the 30" x 12'
That's $2.83/sq ft
Little bit better than the Wilsonart Cash N Cary.

Yep Wilsonart has a slight texture. Can you drop it on a scanner and post a picture? Is there a number on the back of the sample to reference?

I have only called one of my lumber suppliers which was rona (Not the best place to get goo deals on laminate) I Know I could get a better price than that if I worked on a supplier I know who supplies cabinet shops . I just made a quick call and got that price just see where it was now .
What I told you a few posts ago is I would arrange good pricing through one of my accounts and you could pick it up .
I have been skimming this thread and missed a couple of of yours regarding exactly what you wanted to do, BUT It sounds like you are going to glue a couple pieces together right ?
It is going to take some skill to get an invisible seam! not impossible but there is a few tricks to laying and seaming laminate .

I think we're one a different wave length here. I've been to Rona. They tried the bait and switch, rasing the price to $500 then 'discounting' it to $400 when I was quoted $328 to begin with just 5 weeks before.

Now the paint job wasn't for the main big piece. I was also going to make a gaming screen for my Runco 900 in my office, 72" and I wanted to paint it with retroreflective paint in a rattle can. However this doesn't sound like a great idea acording to those who've tried it. SO that's where some of your confusion came in.
I'm getting 3 pieces.
Two initialy - the 5' x 12' and the 2.5' x 12' pieces. These would make up the screen in my living room. 12 foot wide by 7.5 foot high.
Then I'd get a 4' x 8' sheet for the screen in my office for the Runco 900. Trim that down to 72" 4:3 for gamming. Follow??

How does you getting screwed around by rona have anything to do with wave lengths or the price I get quoted ...
I do not understand what that meant ! You obviously got some confusion on pricing where you went,but what are you saying by "different wavelegnth"? that I cannot get that price at rona , or you do not want to deal with rona ?

Yes I do! Every detail
On your Gaming screen do not buy Wilsonart and paint! Buy a sheet of melamine, and I will send you some Retro Paint. Or find a cheap model b 4:3 ratio used screen for cheaper than that diy combo costs. I'll find you a cheap HP screen if you do not want to paint the stuff I send .

No I meant you were skimming and missunderstood the content of the thread and couldn't follow one of my pattented tangent semi-off topic detour's. I don't mind dealing with RONA. I like to shop Canadian but I didn't apreciate what they tried to do.

What's a model 'b' screen? I'd be into trying the painting BUT I don't have any spray guns.

A nice (small) HP would fit the build nicely.
I emailed a place about a 72" sony free standing curved screen and a 100" curved screen. They replied to my email once saying they could get one then never responded after that

A model b screen is a screen used by dalite for industrial and institution use (they are cheaply made and have horrible waves) they are also almost always 4:3 ratio as well, you can get these screens cheaper than actually buying the screen material it's self . You then make your own fixed frame screen.

The modelB is the style of the screen, very cheap! There is a model C , and a tab tensioned screen, fixed,etc. those are models of dalite screens.
You were looking for a retro screen and I was pointing you to the dalite's HP (High Power) screen, It is a retro reflective screen! That is the material you would be able to get on a model B, it's cheaper than buying the material raw .
Not that many deals right now, there used to be a lot of sellers selling them cheap.
You still have a 12' laminate seam to content with on your main screen.
