Thought I'd seen about everything with CRT projectors. Folks, we have a winner! Thumbs Up

Marquee 8500 used in a 3D installation. Must have been retubed right before it was pulled out of service, tubes are in good shape. Mr. Green

Oh stop it, the set was set up for 3D imaging, I need to rotate the yokes, etc. I was floored when I saw the hour count, and wanted to share...

The Marquee line wasn't even introduced 15 years ago!! Laughing

Assuming it was left in standby 24 hrs a day, 56999 hrs = 6.5 years on standby. 11178 hours with "CRTs on" is 1.28 yrs of viewing 24/7. Probably it was used for 68169 hrs = 7.78 yrs, in standby except when they needed to use it.

labeling the video mute button as "standby" on the remote was the worst thing electrohome ever did. Not having the machine shut itself off after an hour or 2 of "standby" was the second worse. When you think about it, that machine used an average of 500 watts power consumption for 50k hours doing absolutely NOTHING Shocked Mad

Been working on the set. THe green tube is from late 1999, not sure if the R and B are original, but the G2s are somewhat high.

The neck boards, V board, C board and astig board are original from late 1995 and no signs of repair/mod work ever done. Impressive!

(the neck boards had weak caps that I changed, but no signs of streaking when I checked the set out)

Dude, you are *scary*. How many people can (or would bother to Very Happy) take a screenshot of an unconverged pj and fix it!?

You're right, we'll never trust another screenie that you post. Laughing

What's all the "noise" in the picture? Looks almost like reflections of people, like the shot was taken through a window or something??

I'm pretty sure the shot happened during a crossfade. The blobs are all facing the same direction - probably heads in the grandstands - which are looking at the Kmart sponsored champ car in the picture. From a few years back though...

Aside from those useless standby hours, my G90 has almost the same amount of "CRT On" hours.
